A message from our CEO
Dear Supporters
I wanted to share a personal update with you directly.
At the end of April, I will be stepping down as CEO at Roberts Centre. This has been an incredibly hard decision, as my heart is very much here, but my husband and I have decided to move back to the north of England so we can be closer to family at a time when they need us. I will be taking on a new CEO role with Salford Foundation, which allows me to continue doing work I care deeply about while being closer to home.
I want to reassure you that this change does not alter the organisation’s purpose or commitment. The Board is putting careful plans in place to ensure continuity and strong governance, including appointing an Interim CEO from within the organisation while they take time to recruit the right person for the next chapter.
I am so proud of what we have achieved together, over the past two years as CEO and across my eleven years with this organisation. Your support makes an extraordinary difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals and families every single day, and I hope you will continue to stand alongside this wonderful organisation as it moves forward.
Thank you for your trust, kindness and belief in our work. It has truly been a privilege.
With heartfelt thanks,
Mel
Statement from the Board.
"The Roberts Centre Board congratulates their CEO- Mel Goddard- on her success in securing a new job leading Salford Foundation. This role allows Mel to build on her experience with us and to move closer to her family in Manchester which has become a priority for her. We have benefitted from her strong, inspiring leadership and wish her well for the future. Before we commence our search for a new CEO we are putting arrangements in place to ensure stability and continue strong governance throughout the transition period. We are confident that the management of our organisation remains in safe and capable hands as we move forward. We remain committed to our mission and charitable objectives and continue to work closely with stakeholders and funders to prioritise delivery of the support we are able to offer to those most in need.”
